Mental Health Advocate (IMHA) in Trafford

Trafford Mental Health Advocacy Service (TMHAS) are looking to employ a qualified Part time Mental Health Advocate (IMHA)

18 hours per week over 3 days

£23,698 to £24,472 pro rata depending on qualifications

Funded to October 2016 and expected to continue for a further 2 years

+ pension scheme and Health Benefits

25 days leave pro rata

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced part time Advocacy Worker (IMHA).  The successful candidate will work in providing mental health advocacy support in hospital and community settings within the Borough of Trafford.

We are looking for a talented person who understands the difficulties faced by people living with mental health problems. This role is focused on understanding the experiences, needs and statutory rights of clients and helping them to make their voices heard and defend their rights.

You will be able to manage your own caseload, monitoring, administration and work as an effective member of a small team.

Excellent communication and organisation skills are essential and the candidate must have good ICT skills.

Ideally the successful candidate will have the National level 3 advocacy certificate plus the specialist level 4 IMHA Module (Unit 306 C&G) and have knowledge of the Care Act 2014.

The successful candidate will need to undergo a DBS Check or if they have registered with the DBC Update Service provide their current DBS certificate number and their permissions to TMHAS in order that they can access this on-line service.
