6 Hours per week two evening sessions (6 months Maternity cover)
Thursday 2.5 hrs & Friday 3.5 hrs
£7.30/hr Unqualified £7.80/hr Locally Qualified or if Nationally JNC qualified
As a new member to the YMCA's youth and community team, you will be part of the development and delivery of mental health work with young people aged 13 to 19 years old. You will support young people with one to one interviews, group activities and workshops. You will be part of the YMCA staff working towards the monthly programme of activities that is developed each month. It is expected you contribute your ideas and good practice in the session briefings and evaluations.
Your role will include face to face youth work, issue based work, supporting volunteers, record keeping, monitoring evaluation and reporting to your line manager.
You will operate within the YMCA framework which values diversity, promotes equal opportunity and challenges discrimination, ensuring child protection and health and safety.
Working to the christian ethos of the YMCA, you will have strong youth and community work skills. Experience of working with children and young people and good communication skills are essential.
