     Who Cares? – Effective Support for Young Adult Carers
    11th July, Manchester
    A free, half-day training session aimed at staff across a range of sectors and roles whose work involves contact with young adult carers, aged 16-25. The interactive course will provide participants with the opportunity to discuss the needs of carers, share good practice, practise activities, and plan for the future.

    A free trustee training workshop for trustees seeking to demonstrate their compliance with the requirement under SORP to receive induction and ongoing training. The 2-hour session, which will be run in the morning and again in the afternoon, will cover the legal duties and responsibilities of charity trustees, legal structures, conflicts of interest, decision-making and delegation to committees. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first served basis.

     There's not long left before the opportunity to nominate someone to carry the Olympic Torch closes. It was announced in May that the Olympic torch will be coming up north in May 2012 with evening celebrations in both Manchester and Bolton.

    London 2012 is looking for around 8,000 Torchbearers of all abilities from right across the country to take part in the Olympic Torch Relay.

    The scheme will support the development of groups, helping them to increase their skills and engage new audiences, raising their profiles in their communities.
