Would you like to join our trustee board??
GMYN is an exciting youth charity that is proudly delivering a number of innovative programmes to support disadvantaged young people across Greater Manchester. The organisation is governed by a board of trustees with various backgrounds and skills and we would like to expand our board to help the organisation develop further.
We want board members who believe in GMYN's cause and are able to give enough time to the role. No previous board experience is needed. We welcome applications from people of all ages and backgrounds. Enthusiasm and commitment are the most important qualities we look for!
We are also looking for individuals with financial experience to fill the Treasurer role. This is a great opportunity to work closely with our finance team to oversee the financial running of the charity.
As a board member you would have the opportunity to get involved with a number of different activities, including strategic planning, campaigning, team building, fundraising events and supporting the growth and development of this innovative organisation.
We expect the time commitment needed for this role to vary depending on availability and this can be discussed to suit you. However, it is expected that the duties would include:
• Attendance at our six weekly board meetings with time inbetween to read papers and carry out small actions.
• Attendance at board sub groups.
• Engaging with activities such as fundraising and events.
Board meetings usually take place early evening and are held at GMYN's office in Ardwick, Manchester, which is around one mile south of the city centre and easy to reach by public transport.
If you would like to find out more about the organisation, please contact GMYN’s Chief Executive Alex Fairweather on 0161 274 3377, or email email@example.com. You can also contact the chair of the board for an informal chat about the current board and its role on firstname.lastname@example.org
Closing date for applications is Wednesday 1st November
