From April 2018, Salford CVS will be leading a programme of work around Person and Community Centred Approaches as part of the GM Health and Social Care Transformation programme.
This programme of work is called Wellbeing Matters - VCSE-led transformation in Salford. It has been recognised that radical upgrade in population health in Salford brings with it a need for radical action and solutions – one of which will be to shape a new relationship with the people of Salford.
In order to deliver this programme for developing person and community-centred approaches across the life course we are putting in place three broad, interdependent areas of work including embedding a social and added value approach in order to achieve health outcomes through the collective action of those both inside and external to the health and social care ‘system’ (including the VCSE sector). This responsible business approach will focus on the delivery of the Salford Social Value Alliance’s 10% Better campaign’s wellbeing and health outcome targets
To take forward this area of work, we are now looking to appoint to a new role of Social Value Development Worker.
This role will be responsible for embedding a social value approach in neighbourhoods by providing intensive support for Salford’s voluntary, community and social enterprise VCSE organisations around monitoring, evaluation and social accounting, so that organisations can tell their stories robustly. It will also provide support to the Salford 10% Better Campaign – using social value to make a 10% improvement across 11 social, environmental and economic outcomes for the benefit of Salford and its people https://www.salfordsocialvalue.org.uk/social-value-in-salford/10better/
The post holder will have the skills to be able to raise awareness across the VCSE sector of social value, providing tailored advice, guidance, and practical support to VCSE organisations with demonstrating social value. We are also looking for someone who has the ability to successfully engage the private sector too. They will take an active part in the promotional and administrative work around the 10% Better campaign.
We are looking for someone with excellent communications skills and a passion for social value, who can influence, coach and support others to take part in our campaign. The post holder will be responsible for delivering training and support with monitoring and evaluation, as well as utilising some of the main tools used for measuring and reporting on social impact. They will be at the heart of Salford’s Social Value Alliance, organising and attending meetings, keeping records and reporting progress with the 10% Better campaign to its key stakeholders.
