Greater Manchester VCSE Health & Social Care Workshop - Long Term Conditions

Following the overwhelming interest amongst VCSE organisations in the Long Term Conditions Round table with Jon Rouse that was held on the 24th July, we are delighted to advise that we will now be hosting a VSCE Workshop on Long Term Conditions on Friday 15th September 2017.

Attended by Jon Rouse, Chief Officer and Giles Wilmore, Associate Lead for Person and Community-Centred Approaches at GM/c Health and Social Care Partnership, this workshop event will cover and discuss key issues facing the VCSE on supporting people with long-term conditions. The following five themes have been identified as key discussion points for the day;

Information/advice/access - including being culturally appropriate & what the offer is for those with language barriers)

Commissioning models

Personalisation of care and the issues relating to this

Creating strong service networks - particularly with VCSE providers

Supporting volunteers, carers and the wider workforce

The workshop will explore the challenges/opportunities in each of these areas and establish how the VCSE can build closer working relationships with the GM Health and Social Care Partnership to collaborate on providing better support for people with long-terms conditions.

Please note, this workshop is not a training event or an event which is open to the general public or service users, it is aimed specifically at VCSE organisations only.
