Independent Mental Health Advocate (IMHA)

18 hours per week

Up to £24,716 pro rata (actual 12,273) depending on qualifications

+ pension scheme and Health Care Benefits

25 days leave (pro rata)

Funded up to September 2018

We are looking for a talented person who understands the difficulties faced by people living with mental health problems.

The role is focused on understanding the experiences, needs and statutory rights of clients and helping them to make their voices heard and defend their rights.

You will be working in a secure hospital setting, manage your own caseload and be part of an effective member of a small team.

Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential and the candidate must have good ICT skills.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have or be prepared to undertake the National level 3 Advocacy certificate (Unit 301-305 C&G) plus the specialist level 4 IMHA Module (Unit 306 C&G) and have knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2004 Care Act 2014.
